Terms of Use
Who owns the content on this site, what you may do with it, what you may not, and how to file a copyright complaint.
Last updated: September 3, 2026
These Terms of Use cover the intellectual property in this site and what you may and may not do with it. They sit alongside our Terms and Conditions, which cover the wider relationship between us.
1. Ownership of content
All original text, guides, reference tables, scoring criteria, comparison data compilations, layout, design elements, graphics, logos and code on this site are owned by Yard Flock or used under licence, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Product names, brand names and logos belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only.
2. What you may do
- Read, bookmark and print pages for your own personal, non commercial use.
- Share a link to any page anywhere you like.
- Quote a short extract, no more than a couple of sentences, with clear attribution to Yard Flock and a working link back to the original page.
- Reference our reference tables in a discussion or forum post, with attribution and a link.
3. What you may not do
- Reproduce, republish or redistribute substantial portions of our content, in any medium, without prior written permission.
- Use our content for commercial purposes, including republishing it on a monetised site or in a paid product.
- Copy our reference tables, comparison data or scoring criteria in whole or in substantial part.
- Rewrite or spin our articles to produce derivative content that competes with the original.
- Scrape, crawl, harvest or extract content by automated means beyond ordinary search engine indexing, and beyond what our robots directives permit.
- Use automated tools to place unreasonable load on our servers, or attempt to bypass rate limiting, security measures or access controls.
- Use our content or data to train, fine tune or evaluate machine learning models without prior written permission.
- Remove, obscure or alter any copyright notice, attribution or disclosure statement.
- Frame, mirror or present our pages in a way that suggests an affiliation or endorsement that does not exist.
- Use our name, logo or brand assets in a way likely to cause confusion about the source of content.
4. Permission requests
We are reasonable about genuine requests. Educational use, extension material and non commercial community resources are usually fine. Write to hello@yardflock.com describing what you want to use, where it will appear and for how long, and we will reply.
5. Copyright complaints and DMCA
We respect intellectual property rights and expect the same in return. If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, send a written notice to legal@yardflock.com including the following, as required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it, including the page address.
- Your contact details, including address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
We will investigate promptly and remove or disable access to material that is found to infringe. We will also process valid counter notices in accordance with the DMCA. Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter notice may expose you to liability for damages.
6. Reporting misuse of our content
If you find our work republished elsewhere without permission, we would be glad to hear about it. Send the address to legal@yardflock.com.
7. Enforcement
We may block access, issue takedown notices, and pursue any other remedy available at law against anyone who breaches these terms. Failure to enforce a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms of Use. The current version is always the one posted on this page, with the last updated date shown at the top.

Research method
Everything on Yard Flock is built from manufacturer specifications, published poultry and extension literature, and verified owner reviews. We do not test products in a coop of our own, and we say so on every page.
