Specification corrections come first
If you have found a wrong number on this site, that is the most useful message you can send us. Include the page address, the figure you believe is wrong, and the figure you believe is correct. A link to a manufacturer spec sheet or a published source helps enormously.
We check every correction against the original documentation. If you are right, we fix the page and note what changed. If the picture is more complicated than either version, we usually end up rewriting the section to explain why.
What we can help with
- Questions about how we researched or scored something in a guide.
- Pointing you to the right guide or reference table for a problem you are trying to solve.
- Corrections, clarifications and broken links.
- Partnership, advertising and licensing enquiries.
- Press and interview requests.
What we cannot help with
There are a few things we have to turn down, and it is fairer to say so here than to leave you waiting for a reply that will not come.
- Individual veterinary advice. If a bird is sick or injured, contact a licensed veterinarian or your local agricultural extension office. We are not qualified to diagnose anything and we will not try.
- Warranty claims, returns, refunds or shipping problems. Those belong with the retailer or the manufacturer, not with us. We are not the seller and we cannot access your order.
- Requests for a paid placement, a purchased ranking, or a guaranteed positive score.
- Legal, financial or building code advice for your specific property.
A word on local rules
Backyard poultry is governed by local ordinances that vary street by street in some places. Flock size limits, rooster bans, coop setback distances and permit requirements are all local questions. Please check with your municipality or county before you build. We cannot answer that for you.
Mailing and business details
Yard Flock operates online and does not maintain a public walk in office. Postal correspondence relating to legal or copyright matters can be arranged by first contacting legal@yardflock.com, and we will provide the appropriate address for service.
Before you write
A quick look at the guide itself often answers the question faster than we can. Every buying guide includes a section on how we chose, a list of what we considered and rejected, and a set of common questions at the foot of the page. If the answer is not there, write to us and we will add it.

Research method
Everything on Yard Flock is built from manufacturer specifications, published poultry and extension literature, and verified owner reviews. We do not test products in a coop of our own, and we say so on every page.
